Mini Bio:
Hello, I'm Mr. Herndon. I grew up in Mississippi and started my art journey at twelve years of age when I met my brother's Art teacher Mr. Lark. He was so interesting and the most amazing things were being produced in his classroom. One day when waiting for my brother after school, Mr. Lark said if I wanted to learn that he would teach me. So, since I was only a 7th grader, I started taking the school bus to the high school and began learning after school. With Mr. Lark's guidance, God's grace, and many all nighters of working on art. I had an art portfolio built that allowed me to receive one of the biggest scholarships Savannah College of Art & Design offers. So after graduating high school I moved to Georgia for college. There I earned my Bachelors of Fine Art with a focus in painting from Savannah College of Art & Design and a post-baccalaureate in K-12 Art Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. After college, my teaching experience has ranged from students at Art magnet schools, to alternative schools, and everything in between. I've taught in Georgia, Florida, and now Oklahoma and love it. My high school art teacher Mr. Lark really changed my life and I treasure having the opportunity to work with our young people like he did with me. I've been teaching at Edmond Memorial High School since 2016 and am thankful to be at such a great place. Outside of school my hobbies include, remodeling homes, gardening, auto repair, and of course creating art, but enough about me, come meet me in person and lets start making your art goals happen! -Mr. Herndon For larger emails with attachments send to: [email protected]
