Drawing & Design Sketchbook Assignments
Week 10 Sketchbook Homework: Due 3/13
Style Rip-off portrait
For this assignment you will research 2 artists. After you research several and find your favorites, write down the names of the ones you’ve chosen.
Pre-project work
You will closely look at the styles they use and then draw 2 of your faces incorporating their styles/techniques.
This is more of a sketchy, practice type of drawing, so it doesn’t have to be completely perfect. Do both practice studies on 1 page side by side. You’ll have 2 days to work on these and take photos of yourself Monday and Tuesday.
Main Project
By Wednesday I expect you to have everything figured out with your photo printed and a plan to be ready to begin on your large piece in class. (You can combine the two styles into 1 or just use your favorite) We’ll work Thursday and Friday on these and you’ll have only the week after spring break to complete them. You will probably need to work on these outside of class in order to meet this deadline. Last work day, Friday 3/30, critique 4/2.
