Week 15 Sketchbook Homework: Due 12/6
Complete 2 drawings of two different types of hair, both on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of printer paper (Fully Shaded). Turn this into Mr. Herndon with your name on it by Wednesday. Have idea's drawn out and discussed with Mr. H to begin project by Wednesday.

Hand turkey sketchbook assignment!
Cut out a hand shaped turkey from a magazine, newspaper, etc, then glue it into your sketchbook, decorate it by drawing or cutting out feathers/beak/etc. and draw the setting behind your turkey (maybe driving a car, or boxing a pilgrim, be creative !)

Peel paint off acrylic palettes then gently wash (don't scrub or you'll ruin the peel off capability) and show Herndon and he will take it from you and cross your name off the list. Also hand Herndon each of your brushes for a cleanliness check. If there is dried paint on any brushes ask Herndon for special cleaner and re-clean them before turning them back in.

1. Draw and shade a still life at home
2. Recreate a plant/botany illustration
3. Recreate a medical illustration
4. Draw and shade 3 pairs of your eyes using a mirror from different angles
5. Draw and shade 4 lips using a mirror from different angles
6. Draw and shade a ¾ View of a skull (from internet reference)
7. Tie a white sock in a knot or bunch it up and draw and shade the fabric “rolls” that are created. (from real life observation)
8. Draw a realistic hand holding an art object. It must have a full range of value/shading to receive credit and be at least life size.
9. Create a collage that fills an entire page of your sketchbook (100% page coverage/no sketchbook page showing, any subject you choose)
10. Draw 10 gestural sketches of figures in your sketchbook from an action movie or youtube clip. For example, watch a Bruce Lee movie and pause some of the fight scenes with kicks. Set yourself a time limit (like 2 minutes per figure, after each one, change the pose.) Slowly increase the time up to 10 minutes for the last one.
11. Design five pieces of jewelry. One needs to be inspired by the 70's, one by Art Deco, one by nature, one by an ancient culture, one by food. Sketch them out in pencil, go over the lines in pen, add color, and label each design with it's inspiration.
12. Create a single page artwork with color. The theme is beverage. The composition should incorporate a bird's eye or worm's eye view.
13. Ask Mr. Herndon to show you the pencil/tracing paper transfer method. Use this method to create a wall paper design and cover a full sketchbook page that is uniquely "YOU" and add full color.
