Electricity
Electricity
1st AP Project:
Use at least 1 theory from the video: “Composition Fundamentals in 2D” when designing your composition during the thumbnailing process.
Incorporate some contrast ideas from the video: “Design Theory: How To Make Dynamic Compositions”
The hardest part of design is using basic ideas and guidelines that clients have given you, then brainstorming and creating something new that is still true to the original concept.
This project’s theme is Electricity. How you implement and incorporate this theme is up to you.
You may choose a media from the choice below. (You may only use each media once. However, you may combine others later.)
Begin with brainstorming, just you and paper. Don't start by stealing from Google.
1st AP Project Reflection: Theme:Electricity Media: Student Choice
Answer the following questions within your reflection.
How did you add meaning to your artwork with your composition choices?
How did you define the hierarchy in your artwork?
Describe the artistic choices you made and how they reflect importance.
Describe the movement in your artwork and the order of the "reads" and why you chose this flow.
Describe your initial concepts, struggles and final solutions.
This should be written very well, using correct spelling & grammar. It must be 1/2 a page in length. After Mr. Herndon grades this and gives it back, you should keep these in a specific binder to use later when gathering your ideas to write your final AP statements.

Here's an email I received:
It was our understanding that once they had an account, joined a class, watched the video (AP Stories), and responded to the follow-up questions, they could register for the test now. This was not correct. They need to do all of this but the registration will open in their support system starting on September 15th.
Registration for the test is from September 15 to October 15. When a student accesses the support system, they will be asked to indicate their intention to take the AP Exam for each of their AP Courses.
They can pay for their AP test now!
Teacher – Please make sure ALL your students have joined the class you created on the AP Support System. They all need to join a class even if they do not plan to take the AP Exam.
ALL AP STUDENTS need to turn in the PARENT STUDY CONSENT FORM ASAP. Again, this does not matter if they plan to take the test or not. We have extra forms in the counseling office.
Kansas City Art Institute is coming to give a presentation about their school & review portfolios on Wednesday, Sept. 20th during 5th hour

Our school counselors will meet with all AP students in the auditorium on Tuesday, September 5th at 9:40. At this time we will hand out the Pilot Guide for AP Students and Parents 2017-2018 and the AP Parent Consent Form. Students will need to turn in the form to the counseling office by Friday, September 8th.
We will also make sure we have extra forms on open house night - so you might mention it to the parents if they have not signed a Parent Consent Form to come by the counseling office and get another copy.
October 15th: Deadline for the students to indicate in the system whether they are taking the AP Exams in May 2018.
October 16th: Deadline to pay for the AP test in the finance office at Memorial High School or online.
If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Elerick or Mrs. Doherty
